A charity auction of a music star’s garments has raised nearly £20,000 in just under a fortnight.
The online sale of 450 items, donated by Ed Sheeran to East Anglian Children’s Hospices (EACH), commenced on November 14, and so far has accrued £19,886.
The garments are available via the charity’s eBay, and lots include jumpers, trousers, hats, boxer shorts and Ipswich Town merchandise.
An EACH spokesperson said: “The rate we’re going, we’re hopeful of of hitting the £60,000 mark.
“We’ve had bids and media interest from across the world.
“More is to be released over the coming weeks, including jumpers, onesies, trousers, hats, jackets, T-shirts – and of course, boxers.”
The first wave of 20 items raised £3,500 alone, and a total of 133 items have been sold so far, averaging £149.37 each.
The top seller from the first round of items was a Platinum Jubilee Charlie Mackesy T-shirt, which went for £510,
Another 60 items are currently live, with a pair of Hugo Boss boxers shorts currently at £82.
EACH has to raise £6.7m a year through fundraising and voluntary donations alone, as well as another £7.8m from its 47 shops and online sales operations.
