A well-used footpath and cycleway route near Bury St Edmunds’ Abbey Gardens is flooded.
A section of Kevelaer Way, at the back of the Great Churchyard, is covered in water following Storm Henk, with the water meadows on either side completely saturated.
The route, which links the Moreton Hall estate to the town centre, was impassable.
Also, the River Lark, which runs alongside the award-winning Abbey Gardens and the water meadows, has overflowed into the picnic area next to the children’s sandpit at the gardens.
The river also burst its banks in November in the aftermath of Storm Ciarán.
Yesterday, police said there had been multiple reports of flooding as Storm Henk lashed the county with heavy rain and wind.
