Man dies after crash on A11 in Barton Mills near Mildenhall and Red Lodge
A 50-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash on a major route in Suffolk.
Police were called at 10.10pm yesterday to the incident on the A11 southbound carriageway in Barton Mills, near Mildenhall.
A blue BMW M3 was found to have left the road to the nearside and collided with trees.
Ambulance and Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews were also in attendance, but the driver of the car was declared dead at the scene.
Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the man has been identified as Peter Harvey, of Soham in Cambridgeshire.
The southbound carriageway was closed while a collision investigation took place, reopening at 5.20am today.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage.
