Lowestoft man ordered to repay £58,000 – which is the money made from his crimes
A Lowestoft man has been ordered to pay back more than £58,000 made through criminal activities.
Nataniel Baldry, 25, formerly of St John’s Road, was sentenced to 46 months’ imprisonment in March at Ipswich Crown Court after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm without intent, possessing criminal property and being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class B drug (cannabis).
He was arrested in November 2022.
During a search at a property in St John’s Road, items including mobile phones and more than £30,000 in cash hidden in a rucksack in a wardrobe, were seized.
Last month, Baldry was ordered to pay back £58,758.56 at a Proceedings of Crime Act (POCA) confiscation hearing at Ipswich Crown Court.
He has been ordered to pay back the sum within three months or face 18 months imprisonment.
Sgt Laura Deal said: “The order made by the court in this case once more underlines that Sentinel East working alongside our colleagues in the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit Financial Investigation Team will continue to use the POCA’s asset recovery powers to work tirelessly to hit those who engage in the supply of drugs and strip them of the wealth they have derived from their illicit activities.”
Suffolk Constabulary has three Operation Sentinel teams – which aim to disrupt serious and organised criminal activity – which were set up in 2019.
