Bury St Edmunds emergency road closure along A143 Compiegne Way

An emergency road closure has been installed along a popular route in a Suffolk town due to flooding.

Suffolk Highways on social media said the A143 Compiegne Way in Bury St Edmunds has been closed this morning and will be closed until further notice.

Motorists have been asked to use an alternative route.

The route was previously closed in January 2023 and November 2022 also due to flooding.

Suffolk Highways has since revealed the road could remain closed until Monday, and said 'ongoing issues' caused the floods.
