School Lane Thurston reports of smell of gas prompts Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service response

Emergency services have been called to a village street today after a report of a smell of gas.

Fire crews from Bury St Edmunds and Ixworth were called to School Lane in Thurston at 10.52am after reports of the smell in a single-story property.

Ambulance crews were called as a precaution and gas company Cadent are also at the scene.

The gas supply to the property has been isolated and checks are now being carried out.

No casualties have been reported.
