Car wash at Haverhill Service Station off Sturmer Road could be demolished and replaced with Greggs as new plans submitted to West Suffolk Council
A car wash at a Haverhill service station could be demolished and replaced with a Greggs if recently-submitted plans are given the go-ahead.
Motor Fuel Group have applied for planning permission from West Suffolk Council for the demolition of the car wash, plant room and jet wash machine at Haverhill Service Station off Sturmer Road, with Couplas Close to the west.
According to proposals, the car wash would then be replaced with a ‘food to go’ pod which, in pictures within the application, appears to be a Greggs.
The store would provide refreshments for drivers charging their cars at the site’s eight EV charging bays, which were recently approved.
A letter submitted to the council on behalf of Motor Fuel Group said: “The proposals will enhance the existing offer at the service station, without compromising the efficient operation of the facility and without harming the vitality and viability of nearby town centres.”
