Fireworks in Bury St Edmunds, fence alight in Haverhill and bin fires in Ipswich among early hours New Year’s Day incidents reported to Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service
Fireworks, bin fires and a fence alight were among incidents Suffolk’s firefighters were alerted to in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to 11 incidents across the county including in the Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Ipswich and Lowestoft areas.
At 12.20am, a crew from Bury St Edmunds attended reports of fireworks near a bin in Airfield Road in the town. No further action was required.
At 1.21am, a crew from Haverhill responded to a report of a fence fire at a property in Atterton Road in the town. No further action was required.
Meanwhile, firefighters from Lowestoft rescued a person from a water-filled ditch after being called at 2.10am to the incident in Christmas Lane, Oulton.
Other call-outs included two bin fires in Ipswich.
