Sudbury arson investigation sees 42-year-old man arrested after fire at property
A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life after a fire at a property this morning.
The fire occurred between 7.30am and 8am this morning, at a flat in Minden Road, Sudbury.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the blaze and evacuated residents of other flats in the building. The targeted flat was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
It is believed items were placed through the letterbox and deliberately set alight, causing damage to the door and internal walls.
The man has been taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he currently remains for questioning.
