Cyclists die in Billingford A143 Bungay Road collision as man is arrested





Two cyclists have died and a man has been arrested after a serious incident on the A143 near Billingford.

The incident occurred on Sunday at 9.24pm when a red Mini Cooper collided with two electric bicycles.

Emergency services attended the scene including ambulance and fire crews.

Sadly, both cyclists, two men in their 30s, died at the scene as a result of their injuries.

A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has since been released on bail until November 24 2023.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or either vehicle prior to the collision and are particularly keen to speak to any motorists who may have relevant dashcam footage.
