The Mix on Ipswich Street in Stowmarket hosts Christmas party for high school children from Suffolk

More than 120 children from high schools around Stowmarket enjoyed a free, festive celebration earlier this week.

The Mix youth charity on Ipswich Street hosted the Christmas party on Tuesday evening, for youngsters from Year 7 to Year 11.

Josh Goddard, Open Access Project Lead at The Mix said: “The party was buzzing, loud, energetic and messy, but the young people loved every second of it.”

He continued: “We had 32 new young people who had never been to The Mix before which is so amazing for us to see.

“The highlight for me was that two of our young leaders came to help and really grew in confidence throughout, they really came out of their shell and ended dancing and singing along with the young people.”

The party, was organised by the Open Access Team, and ran with the help of nine other members of staff and nine volunteers, which Josh said were ‘amazing’.
