Ipswich man to appear before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court charged with attempted robbery after incident where shop worker was threatened





An Ipswich resident has been charged with attempted robbery after a man entered a shop and threatened a worker.

Mark Ely, 55, of Milton Street, has been charged with attempted robbery, two counts of theft, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.

This follows an incident yesterday, in which a man entered the Premier shop in Reynolds Road, Ipswich.

The man filled his pockets with merchandise, before threatening a shop worker.

He damaged the store's door, then fled the scene.
