Ipswich Town column: Swansea victory at Portman Road saw some of the best football Kieran McKenna’s side have produced this season

Don't shoot the messenger, but that so called 'blip' lasted long. Town were back to their best against Swansea on Saturday after a run of three games without a win.

If that's what we're calling a 'wobble' these days, then my oh my have times changed. We really are good aren't we?

It was another 3-2 win at Portman Road, again having to come from a goal down. I tell you what was especially pleasing was that the Portman Road faithful never stopped singing once Jay Fulton had put the visitors ahead and actually the cheers from Swansea fans in The Cobbold Stand were pretty much drowned out by those in blue down the other end.

A far from inspiring start was followed, in my opinion, by the best 25 minutes of football we've played all season.

Maybe I'm saying that because it happened down the end where I sit, but once Jack Taylor's 25-yard wonder-strike had found the top corner the onslaught which followed was mesmerising. And a 2-1 lead at half-time very much flattered the Swans.

We keep on riding this wave don't we? I know the clubs motto is to 'run towards adversity', but seriously we're now almost causing the adversity ourselves, just to prove we can come back and put things right.

Another international break now and they never get any easier do they? However, I think this one has come at a good time for Town and I would expect those who have been absent to come back fitter and stronger, ahead of what looks an absolutely mammoth December.

Is it time to be talking about the 16th yet? I'm beginning to think about it but Town know there's a lot of football to play before then and if we are to match the levels of that 25 minutes shown against Swansea on Saturday, I'm really not sure who can match us.
