Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Woodbridge, Thetford, and Mildenhall firework displays going ahead to celebrate Bonfire Night November 2023





This weekend families will be heading out to their favourite firework displays across Suffolk, here we bring you a full roundup of all the events still going ahead.

We have also included displays that have been cancelled for November 2023, to avoid anyone travelling unnecessarily.

Read on for our list of Bonfire Night displays in Suffolk between November 3 – November 5, and firework events taking place later in the month.

Firework displays ON – Friday, November 3

Bury St Edmunds

Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club fireworks on Friday, November 3, start at 7.30pm, with gates opening at 6pm.

Tickets can be brought on the gate (cash only) or online.

Mildenhall

Mildenhall Town Football Club’s Bonfire Night will start at 4.30pm on Friday, November 3 – with fireworks expected to start around 7pm.

Tickets are £6 for adults and £4 for those under 16. Blue Light holders will get a discounted price of £4.

Ipswich

Whitton United Football Club in Ipswich are hosting a firework display on Friday, November 3 – the ground will be open from 6.30pm.

Rendlesham

Rendlesham’s Firework Extravaganza, organised by the parish council is scheduled to go ahead on Friday at Jubilee Park.

The event will run from 4pm until 7.30pm, with the display starting at 6.30pm.

Firework displays ON – Saturday, November 4

Stowmarket

The Food Museum in Stowmarket is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 4.

Grounds of the museum will be open from 6pm, with the display starting at 7.30pm.

Rattlesden

Rattlesden’s bonfire and firework party is also on Saturday with gates opening at 6pm.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available from The Five Bells or Rattlesden village shop.

Hartest

Hartest Pre-School have organised a fireworks and bonfire night for Saturday, November 4, at The Crown.

Gates will open at 5.30pm with the fireworks starting at 6.30pm – more information can be found on the Hartest Pre-School Facebook page.

Woodbridge

If you are looking for a firework display with a difference there will be Fish Friendly Firework projection at the Tide Mill in Woodbridge on Saturday, November 4, and Sunday, November 5.

The Fish Friendly Fireworks are organised by the Woodbridge Festival of Art are free and will run between 5pm-9pm on Saturday and 5pm-7pm on Sunday.

Ipswich

Organisers of the Fireworks Festival at Trinity Park Ipswich, on Saturday, November 4 have confirmed their event, featuring Peter Andre, will be going ahead.

The Christchurch Park Fireworks in Ipswich will also be taking place on Saturday evening – more information about them can be found in this Suffolk News article.

Firework Displays ON – Sunday, November 5

Kesgrave

Families living in the Kesgrave area can enjoy a display at the High School on Sunday evening.

More details about the display can be found on the Kesgrave Town Council Facebook page.

Ipswich

This year Jimmy’s Farm are having a special low noise firework display on Sunday, November 5.

The event is still on, despite the recent bad weather, but has now sold out.

Great Barton

The sold out Great Barton Firework Display will also be going ahead on Sunday.

Later in November 2023

Dullingham

A bumper event, including a fairground, light-up toy stall and food, bar and hot drinks, was set to start at Kettlefields School in Dullingham near Newmarket on Friday, November 3.

It has now been switched to Monday, November 6, at the same time, with the bonfire lighting at 6.30pm and fireworks from 7pm. More details here.

Long Melford

This year’s Big Night Out in Long Melford, near Sudbury, will be at a new location for 2023 – Kentwell Hall, following its cancellation last year.

Organisers of the event on Friday, November 10, are promising and 18-minute spectacle, with a display which will include carousel fireworks.

Thetford

The Thetford Firework Spectacular on Barnham Common was scheduled to take place on Bonfire Night, Sunday, November 5.

It will now be on Sunday, November 12, allowing time for ground in the area to dry out after recent bad weather.

CANCELLED Bonfire Night events – 2023

-Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds – not going ahead in 2023 due to organisational reasons.

-Barrow – not going ahead due to adverse weather conditions.

-Mendlesham Community Fireworks – cancelled due to bad weather and state of the field.

-Heveningham Hall Fireworks, near Halesworth - cancelled due to bad weather.

-Undley Farm, near Lakenheath – cancelled due to bad weather and flooded car park.

-Lindsey Rose pub, near Hadleigh – cancelled because of bad weather.
