Bury St Edmunds Compiegne Way remains shut a week after flooding caused closure
A flood-prone Bury St Edmunds road remains closed following flooding caused by Storm Henk.
Compiegne Way has been shut both ways since last Monday.
The major route has repeatedly flooded over autumn and winter.
Works to resolve the long-running problem, including removing more than 100 tonnes of silt from the drainage system and installing new pumps, were completed by Suffolk Highways last April.
Last month, when asked by SuffolkNews about its long-term plans for tackling repeated issues in Compiegne Way, a Suffolk Highways spokeswoman said they were aware of the ongoing flooding.
Another Bury road, which remains closed due to flooding, is Nowton Road.
The road is closed both ways between Mayfield Road and Fox And Pin Lane.
