Soham Town Rangers manager Alex Cross signs Joe Greenslade-Cross from Haverhill Rovers alongside Flynn Crosthwaite, Ben Howlett and Terry Silva

Soham Town Rangers manager Alex Cross has bolstered his ranks with the addition of four new signings.

The most eye-catching of the arrivals is that of Joe Greenslade-Cross, who arrives having racked up 19 goals in all competitions for lower-league Haverhill Rovers this season.

Earlier this week Greenslade-Cross spoke of the confidence that he currently has in front of goal – and he will now be hoping that it continues in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division.

Greens boss Cross said: “I am chuffed to have signed Joe for the football club. He is the type of character and player that we want here. He's one that the supporters will enjoy watching and we hope that he can add to the 19 goals he's already scored this season.

“Joe has had some very good offers from clubs at our level and above so it's testament to everyone at the club that he has signed for us.”

Also agreeing moves to Julius Martin Lane are Flynn Crosthwaite, Ben Howlett and Terry Silva.

Crosthwaite is a midfielder that has featured regularly for Needham Market’s Under-23s this season, while Howlett and Silva are both part of the youth set-up at King’s Lynn Town.

Cross added: “Three exciting young players. Flynn joins us from Needham Market where he has been ever present in their U23s whilst making some appearances in their first team at Step 3.

“Ben and Terry both join us from King's Lynn Town. Ben has had an excellent first half of the season with the U19s. He's an old head on young shoulders and has a great future in the game.

“Terry is a goalkeeper with tremendous potential and will bring competition in the goalkeeping department whilst being dual registered with Mundford FC.”

All four of the new faces have been registered in time for tomorrow’s trip to face Downham Town (3pm).

Meanwhile, Soham have also confirmed the departure of Ed Watson, who joined the club in the summer of 2022 from Saffron Walden Town.

"Ed's a great young man, he's desperate to play games prior to heading over to America next year. The games that have been off haven't helped us or Ed. He goes with our best wishes,” said Cross.
