Local Accountant Transitions Advisory Practice to Churchgates, embarking on a new chapter in retirement.
It was a day of mixed emotions as Grahame Isard, having operated his sole practitioner accountancy business in the town for over 35 years, handed over responsibility for his practice to Churchgates, located in the heart of Bury St Edmunds on Langton Place.
Having dedicated decades to serving the people of Bury, Grahame is now poised to embark on a new chapter in retirement. Despite stepping away from his role as a sole practitioner, Grahame remains committed to the community, offering his expertise as an adviser for the Citizens Advice Bureau and serving as an independent Custody Visitor for the Police Investigation Centre on River Lane.
In entrusting his clients to Churchgates, Grahame cited “they share the same ethos and passion for customer service”. Matthew Boardman, Director of Churchgates, expressed honour in being entrusted with responsibility for Grahame's clients. He also emphasised the team's commitment to maintaining the high standards of service that clients have come to expect, within Churchgates’ broader context offering multidisciplinary expertise not only in accountancy and tax, but also financial planning and legal services. He commented, “We are very privileged and excited to have the opportunity of welcoming Grahame's clients into the Churchgates family. Our suite of services ensures that clients receive holistic financial and legal guidance, catering to every stage of life and we will work to safeguard all their interests with the same degree of personalised attention that they came to expect from Grahame over so many years.”
Grahame Isard's career commenced at the London office of Deloitte & Co, which is now part the international firm PwC, later relocating to their Cambridge office before founding his own practice in 1987. As Grahame looks forward to retirement, anticipating travel and reunions with old acquaintances, he has been touched by receiving numerous messages from his current and former clients extending their heartfelt wishes for his next phase of life.
