Stephen John Winter Wonderland ball raises more than £12,000 for My WiSH Charity's Butterfly Appeal

A sparkling winter wonderland charity ball in Bury St Edmunds has raised more than £12,000 for My WiSH Charity's Butterfly Appeal.

The event, organised by Stephen John salon, in Lawson Place, is held every two years.

Steve Trowles, Stephen John owner, is an ambassador for the Butterfly Appeal to raise £340,000 for a private garden at West Suffolk Hospital, where end-of-life and terminally ill patients can spend time with loved ones.

Steve lost his mum Brenda Avison, 68, to cancer in 2016. Two previous winter wonderland balls, in 2015 and 2017, each raised more than £6,000.

Sally Daniels, appeal manager, said: "Steve is such a wonderfully kind and generous man. Not only does he work so hard to support patients with cancer he has been an avid supporter of My WiSH Charity for many years.

"The Winter Wonderland Ball is legendary and we are thrilled Steve chose to support the Butterfly Appeal.

"This donation is just incredible, thank you to everyone who helped Steve host the ball and who attended.”
