Rushbrooke Arms chooses to support My WiSH charity's Butterfly Appeal

A Sicklesmere pub has pledged its support to a fund-raising appeal to build an end-of-life facility at West Suffolk Hospital, in Bury St Edmunds.

The Rushbrooke Arms has chosen to back My WiSH charity’s Butterfly Appeal this year.

The £340,000 appeal could transform the experiences of end-of life and terminally ill patients through the creation of a private ‘Butterfly Garden’ accessible indoor and outdoor area.

Patients could spend some of their final days or hours with loved ones in the indoor space within a ‘Butterfly Garden’ area.

Tom Francis, of the Rushbrooke Arms, said he wanted to support the appeal because customers could make a big difference by donating their change when buying a pint.

Other fund-raising plans include raffles, monthly singers and bands and a family fun day.
