Suffolk County Council launches jobs app for young people
A careers and employment app has been launched to coincide with National Apprenticeships Week, which runs between February 7 and February 13.
Yojo - developed by Suffolk County Council in conjunction with consultant Pootle & Pog - was initially launched in 2014.
It aims to support youths aged 14 to 25 who are seeking training and apprenticeship opportunities.
Users can take a quiz to practice their interview skills, apply for vacancies, create a CV and search for potential career paths.
Suffolk County Council's cabinet member for education, SEND and skills, Rachel Hood, said: "This is an extremely valuable resource for young people.
"Entering the world of work is complex at the best of times and it's especially hard on young people starting out during a pandemic. The app will make it easier for young people in Suffolk to find career opportunities."
Sarah Finch, director of Pootle & Pog, said: "The Engagement Hub wanted an app created with young people for young people. The improved yojo app now puts the world of work in their pocket."
