Environment Agency to visit Potter’s Bridge, on the B1127 near Southwold, tomorrow

The Environment Agency is to visit the root of a problem which causes the incessant flooding of a Suffolk town road tomorrow.

Potter’s Bridge, on the B1127 outside of Southwold, is currently flooded as a result of the rain lashing Suffolk today.

It is not the first time the road has become impassible, with residents regularly having to find alternate routes which significantly disrupts travel and access, particularly to the James Paget Hospital.

The B1127 is among the many roads affected by the rain today.

A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: “We are aware that the channel has again become blocked at Easton near Southwold.

“We will be returning to the site tomorrow to review what actions need to be taken. We aim to start making remediations in the next few days”.
