Anglian Water van becomes stuck in flooding in Wash Lane near Stowmarket

A Suffolk woman has shared her disbelief after an Anglian Water van became stuck in a flood on Wash Lane.

Jill, who lives near Stowmarket, shared dramatic photos of the vehicle on the corner of Wash Lane, close to Onehouse.

Posting on a community Facebook group earlier today, Jill said: “I can't believe that I am now writing this post, after only a couple of days ago warning the community that the ford is deep and flowing fast after a tonne of rain.”

She continued: “Well as of a couple of hours ago, we do indeed have another driver who thought he could pass through the flooded water and is now stuck in the ford.

“The irony is that it is an Anglian Water vehicle that is stuck.”

Jill explained: “I just spotted something white and went to investigate and saw the van.

“I ran to check no one was in the vehicle.”

Jill confirmed that the driver had got out of the van safely.

The van is believed to have become stuck before 9.30am this morning – a tow truck was on the scene at midday.
