Haverhill-raised actor Charlie MacGechan is playing a leading role in a film about a group of prisoners that escaped from the Nazi’s first death camp, Chelmno.
Written and directed by Lior Geller, The World Will Tremble tells the true story of the group and their escape attempt from the World War Two camp.
Charlie plays the part of Wolf in the movie, which is now at the post-production stage.
The film also stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Invisible Man), Jeremy Neumark Jones (Grantchester) and David Kross (The Keeper and War Horse).
Charlie, who first acted as a child in the Haverhill amateur dramatics group, Centre Stage Company, has numerous TV, film and theatre credits to his name.
In 2018 he starred alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme in another Lior Gellar film, We Die Young.
Other film and short film credits include The Girl From the Song, Brash Young Turks, Deus, I Am, An Actor and Mark.
His TV work includes Pennyworth, Unforgotten, Casualty and Eastenders.
London-based Charlie also jointly formed the theatre and film production company, Flying Colours Productions (named after the children’s drama school originally run by his late mum, Frances) and the dramatic society, Run At It Shouting, which specialises in acting workshops, industry Q&As and film production.
