Haverhill Rovers delighted by the success of its first Christmas Fayre

The first Christmas Fayre to be held by Haverhill Rovers was a ‘huge success’ with more than 200 people attending.

Held last Sunday evening at the club’s home venue, The New Croft, it featured lots of stalls, a fireworks display, Santa’s grotto, food and refreshments.

Paul Gardiner, one of the club’s committee members, said: “Everyone at Haverhill Rovers is incredibly pleased and proud that the event, put together at quite short notice, was such a huge success.

“We had over 200 adults through the turnstiles and many more children, with over 70 visiting our very own Santa.

“We really tried to push the event through local social media and are glad so many people saw this and came to support the club and come together for a really fantastic fireworks show; complimented by a great Christmas fayre and raffle.

“We look forward to next year and hope people will return.”

The event was boosted by donations of £500 from town and West Suffolk district councillors Pat Hanlon and Lora Miller-Jones’ locality grants.
