Suffolk schools near Stowmarket and Ipswich closed due to severe flooding

Several schools in Suffolk will be closed today due to flooding following heavy rain.

According to the Suffolk County Council school closures website, Mendlesham Primary School is shut due to flooded roads into Mendlesham being inaccessible for staff.

Online learning will be provided.

Old Newton Church of England Primary School, near Stowmarket, is also closed due to severe local flooding. Remote learning will be provided.

Meanwhile, Somersham Primary School, near Ipswich, is shut due to severe local flooding.
