A12 lane blocked outside Brightwell near Martlesham and Bucklesham due to broken down lorry

There are severe delays and one lane is blocked on a major route in Suffolk due to a broken down lorry.

Police were called at about 10am today to reports of a HGV that broke down on the A12 northbound before Foxhall Road, towards Martlesham, near Ipswich.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said Foxhall Road has been closed westbound and recovery is on its way to the scene.

According to the AA traffic map, there is very slow traffic backing up past Bucklesham to the A14.

The incident is ongoing.
