Motorcyclist dies and man arrested after B1122 crash in Theberton, near Leiston

A man has died and another arrested after a two-vehicle crash at Theberton, near Leiston.

Police were alerted yesterday at about 2.30pm to the B1122 with the junction of Potter’s Street.

The collision involved a red Ducati motorcycle and a silver Ford Fiesta.

The male motorcyclist, in his 50s, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

The male driver of the car, in his 30s suffered minor injuries.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst under influence of drink or drugs and he remains in custody.

The road was closed and diversions put in place whilst police conducted initial inquiries – it re-opened at 11.15pm.
