Bardfest 2019 headliners Scouting for Girls and The Feeling bring visitors from far and wide to Bardwell

It was all singing and dancing for both visitors and organisers at this year’s Bardfest, with record-breaking numbers in attendance at the two-day festival.

Around 3,000 people flocked to Bardwell on Friday night while 5,000 turned up on Saturday to enjoy performances by headliners Scouting for Girls and The Feeling as well as many other bands and acts.

Gary Howard, who is on the organising committee, said: “We have never had numbers like that before so it was absolutely sensational.

“The festival has really grown over the 10 years it has been going. We used to get people coming mainly from Bury and the surrounding area but now people travel from all over the country to spend the weekend here and have some fun.”

As well as the music, visitors young and old could enjoy a range of activities as well as the food and drink on offer.

“We’ve had good feedback so far and it all went fabulously well. People appeared to be having a great time which makes us happy,” said Gary.
