Ipswich Regent to see Wet Wet Wet and Go West take to the stage
Two popular bands with more than 30 chart hits between them have announced a co-headline tour heading to Suffolk.
Wet Wet Wet and Go West will be coming to Ipswich Regent on Thursday, January 25 as part of their ‘Best of Both Worlds’ tour and tickets will be available soon.
Wet Wet Wet have sold more than 15 million singles and are best known for their 1994 cover of ‘Love Is All Around’ which was famously used in the soundtrack of Four Weddings and a Funeral - resulting in 15 weeks at number 1 in the charts.
Original members Graeme Clark and Graeme Duffin will be joined by frontman Kevin Simm who is a former member of Liberty X and also won The Voice in 2016 and started singing with the group four years ago.
Kevin said: “We’re really excited to be co touring with Go West, they are great guys and their hits speak for themselves.
“Being a vocalist I have always greatly admired Peter Cox’s unique tone and soul so I’m looking forward to hearing it every night on the tour.”
Go West’s Peter Cox and Richard Drummie formed the pop duo in 1982 and saw great commercial success with their debut single ‘We Close Our Eyes’ in 1985 and ‘The King of Wishful Thinking’ in 1992.
The album ‘Go West’ sold 2 million copies worldwide and remained on the UK chart for 83 weeks and Richard described the upcoming shows as a ‘jukebox’ of fan-favourite tracks.
He said: “Peter and I are really looking forward to getting out on the road with the Wet Wet Wet boys.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun for us and of course, the audience. The shows will be like a jukebox of each bands’ hits.
“That’s why we’ve called it ‘The Best of Both Worlds Tour’. Prestigious venues, great songs, two fabulous bands - one great night out. See you all there.”
