Southwold incident sees 10 picnic benches damaged after being thrown onto beach from North Parade

As many as 10 picnic benches were damaged after a group of youths threw them onto a Southwold beach on New Year’s Eve.

Between 10.45pm and 11.15pm on Sunday, three males, believed to be teenagers, were seen throwing furniture from North Parade.

They flew over railings and landed onto the beach below.

Ten of the benches were damaged, and the incident is being treated as criminal damage.

Police are keen to speak to any witnesses.

Anyone who can aid the investigation is urged to contact Suffolk Police, quoting crime reference, 37/409/24.
