Rivers in towns including Stowmarket, Hadleigh, Bury St Edmunds and Thetford at risk of flooding as the Environment Agency’s flood warnings remain in place

Flood warnings are still in place across parts of Suffolk following Storm Henk.

Some flood alerts and warnings from the Environment Agency remain in place today with run-off from rivers potentially affecting towns such as Stowmarket, Hadleigh, Needham Market, Bury St Edmunds and Thetford.

Continuing from yesterday, flooding warnings are in place for the Rattlesden River from Rattlesden to Combs Ford in Stowmarket and the River Brett from Lavenham to Higham.

There are also continued flood alerts for the following rivers:

• Little Ouse River and River Thet in Suffolk and Norfolk – areas most at risk include the Little Ouse River from Rickinghall to Hockwold, including The Black Bourn, and River Thet from Attleborough to Thetford

• River Lark in Suffolk – areas most at risk are around the River Lark from Sicklesmere to Isleham

• The Rattlesden River and River Gipping, through and including Stowmarket and Needham Market

• The River Gipping, from downstream of Needham Market, to upstream of London Road Bridge, Ipswich

• The Rivers Blyth and Walpole and Chediston, Bramfield and Wrentham watercourses

• The Rivers Box and Brett

• The Rivers Deben and Lark

• The River Stour from Sudbury to Stratford St Mary and Dedham

• The River Waveney from Diss and the River Dove to Ellingham, including Bungay

• The upper Stour and surrounding tributaries

More light rain is expected in some parts of Suffolk.
