Three charged after cannabis factories discovered in Portman Road and Willoughby Road Ipswich





Three men from Ipswich have been charged with drugs offences after the police discovered cannabis factories in Portman Road and Willoughby Road.

A total of 117 small cannabis plants and 123 mature cannabis plants were found at the address in Willoughby Road, following an earlier vehicle stop on Cavendish Street, on Tuesday April 4.

Officers found the plants were growing over three of the four storeys of the town house.

Officers then forced entry to a flat in Churchman's House, Portman Road, where they discovered 83 small cannabis plants and 71 mature plants.

After being arrested, the men Hamit Velia, Euglen Aliaj and Endri Rredhi, were questioned at Martlesham Health Police Investigation Centre.

Hamit Velia,19, of Portman Road in Ipswich was charged with production of cannabis and being concerned in the production of cannabis.

Euglen Aliaj, 25, of Dunlop Road in Ipswich, was charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis, driving with no insurance, and driving with no licence.

Endri Rredhi, 33, of Redi Close in Ipswich, was charged with concerned in the production of cannabis and possession of cocaine.

All three of the men were remanded in custody and appeared before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 5, no further date has been set.
