A dilapidated Suffolk town house has failed to sell after going under auction this week with a guide price of nearly £200,000.

The property, 38 Fornham Road in Bury St Edmunds, went under the hammer on Wednesday, November 1, with a guide price of £170,000 to £190,000.

The bidding on the day started at £170,000 and reached £187,000 before the auctioneers called it off, despite describing it as a ‘peach of an opportunity with packs of potential.’

The property will now be reassessed and bidders were invited by Auction House East Anglia to get into contact with them for any further interest or arrangements.

It has three bedrooms and a large back garden, which is currently overloaded with waste and will need refurbishing, as will the rest of the property.
