Trelawny Place, in Felixstowe, to see 305 new homes after Persimmon Homes Suffolk given green light

Plans to build 305 new homes in a seaside town have been approved.

Persimmon Homes Suffolk, the developer behind the project, was given the go-ahead by East Suffolk Council to build more homes in Trelawny Place, Felixstowe.

This is in addition to the initial 255 homes that are already under construction at the new estate.

The majority of the homes in the second phase will be zero-carbon ready, which will include solar panels, electric vehicle charging points and air source heat pumps.

Ian Hamilton, managing director of Persimmon Homes Suffolk, said: “We’re extremely proud of the high-quality new homes we are building at Felixstowe, and I’m delighted that we are able to offer even more in this charming seaside location.

“The inclusion of zero-carbon ready homes within in this second phase is also extremely exciting.

“To achieve this, we will be utilising a range of green technologies to maximise their energy efficiency and sustainability.”

The developer hopes the new homes will help the council meet local housing needs by offering a combination of starter homes and larger family housing.

A total of 101 new homes will be also be offered for affordable rent or shared ownership.

Further, the project will direct £2m towards the improvement of highways in the area, including local roads and public footpaths.
