Bury St Edmunds Vinyl Hunter reveals location of pop-up shop ahead of revamp

A Bury St Edmunds record shop has announced its temporary new home as it prepares for a major refurbishment.

Next Monday, Vinyl Hunter will be moving to a pop-up shop at the top of St John's Street as the front of its premises is transformed into a café area and community space.

The unit, once Gastrono-me's original base, has been empty since September 2018.

Last week, Suffolk News revealed that during the refurbishment, Vinyl Hunter will be 'giving away' more than 2,000 records.

Though the records will be free, shoppers will be encouraged to make a donation to the Bury St Edmunds based charity, Gatehouse Home Store and Foodbank - with the team at Vinyl Hunter aiming to raise £2,000.

Owner Will Hunter, 26, and his mother Rosie launched the business in 2015.

Rosie thanked Marcus Wilmot, a director at Mirror Image (Norwich), for helping them to secure the temporary site until the end of September.

Mirror Image, which plans to open next year, hand craft made-to-measure furniture for bedrooms and home offices.
