Suffolk Highways attended 40 flooded sites and over 120 fallen trees during Storm Henk so far

Suffolk Highways has attended more than 120 fallen trees since the start of Storm Henk.

Teams have also been to 40 flooded sites with recovery efforts continuing throughout today with more heavy rain set to come.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning in the county until 3am tomorrow and flooding is expected as river levels rise.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Highways on social media said: “We are continuing our recovery efforts today, whilst preparing our teams to deal with more heavy rain forecast.

“To enable our teams to be as productive as possible, we will be leaving flood boards out at locations where we have placed these during Storm Henk.

“This will allow us to assess other locations across Suffolk and deal with any emerging issues throughout today and this evening.”

People travelling in the county have been advised to take extra care, plan additional time for journeys and to not attempt to drive through flood water.
