Thetford pair sentenced for drug offences after court hears cocaine was flushed down the toilet

A Thetford man and woman have been sentenced after he was caught flushing drugs down the toilet during a police raid and cocaine worth more than £8,000 was found.

Tommy Dackombe, 24, and Robyn Dackombe, 42, both of Durham Way in the town, were sentenced yesterday at Norwich Crown Court after pleading guilty to multiple drug offences including possession and supply.

This sentencing follows arrests on May 31, 2022, when officers executed a search warrant at their home address.

Officers found Tommy attempting to flush several plastic bags, containing cocaine, down the toilet and a number of street deal sized wraps were also found in Robyn’s bedroom.

The quantity of cocaine seized from the address had an estimated street value of £8,195.

Cash, several mobile phones and a set of digital scales were also seized.

Both Tommy and Robyn were arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning. Both were released under investigation and later charged.

Tommy Dackombe was charged with possession with intent to supply a class A drug, namely cocaine. Robyn Dackombe was charged with possession of a class A drug, namely cocaine. Both pled guilty to their charges.

Whilst on Crown Court imposed bail, Tommy continued to offend.

He was found to be frequently sending bulk texts, between June 5 and August 3, 2023, advertising the availability of class A drugs. 4

He was arrested on August 9 last year and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning before being released on bail.

He was then arrested again on August 15, due to new evidence and later charged and remanded in custody for possession of cannabis, possession of criminal property, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and being concerned in the supply of cocaine .

Tommy Dackombe was sentenced to four years in prison and Robyn Dackombe was given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Investigating officer Sgt Daniel Shelley, said: “Drug criminality can have a huge impact on our local communities so we work hard to disrupt and remove these threats whenever we can.

“I hope this sentence serves a reminder to those who choose to deal drugs in Norfolk that it will not be tolerated.”
