Community Achievers Recognised

Thirty unsung heroes were honoured for their contribution to local life at the 2011 Mid Suffolk Community Achievement awards ceremony.

The awards scheme, originally set up by Mid Suffolk District Council, was this year jointly organised by the council and Stowmarket Gipping Valley Rotary Club.

Winners were nominated by members of the public for their dedication to voluntary work, charity fund-raising and community projects or for simply being a helpful and caring neighbour. They were presented with their certificates by Derek Osborne, chairman of the council, and Tony Pickering, president of the rotary club.
